What is a Microbiostatic Agent?

Bradshaw’s 4 Ring Protection is pleased to introduce a novel microbiostatic agent, which is a patented and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered product. The microbiostatic agent’s coating is a unique nano-technology that works on non-porous surfaces. It is designed to prevent the growth of a wide array of bacteria, mold, mildew, algae, and yeast. Microbiostatic agents act like a bed of microscopic spikes which also carry a strong positive charge which attracts negatively-charged microbes, drawing them into, and impaling them on these microscopic spikes. This action pierces the cell walls of microbes, offering a totally new approach to providing long-lasting anti-microbial protection.

Our Microbiostatic agents have demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 (formerly 2019 Novel Coronavirus – Wuhan) on hands, fabrics and non-porous surfaces. Therefore our microbiostatic agents can be used against SARS-CoV-2 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Feline Calicivirus as a surrogate virus for Norovirus on hands, fabrics and non-porous surfaces.

How It Works

Bradshaw is proud to introduce a patented, EPA registered revolutionary new product. Our microbiostatic agent prevents the growth of an amazingly wide array of bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, algae and yeast. The microbiostatic agent acts like a bed of microscopic spikes that pierce the cell walls of microbes, and is a totally new approach to providing long-lasting antimicrobial protection.

Our microbiostatic agent is unique. One end of the molecule creates a strong bond with a multitude of surfaces, porous and non-porous alike, forming a highly durable protective coating. The other end of the molecule forms a microscopic bed of spikes that punctures microbes like a bed of nails. The microbiostatic agent physically ruptures the cell walls of these microbes, without the use of poisons. Since the microbiostatic agent’s methodology is mechanical instead of a poison, it does not “give itself up” during the kill phase, and therefore lasts up to 7 days on treated surfaces.

The microbiostatic agent’s molecular spikes are long chains of atoms that are large enough to pierce the cell walls of various microbes. Being only about one thousandth the diameter of a human hair, they are too small to harm larger cells found in mammals. These chains of atoms carry a strong positive charge that attracts negatively-charged bacteria. The microbiostatic agent has been found in independent testing to be effective against a wide array of microbes, including MRSA, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Hepatitis, various Salmonella strains, Influenza, black mold and other offending microbes.

Recently, the product was tested by the largest hospital environmental services company in the United States to verify the performance of our product in a hospital setting. Independent laboratory tests were ordered to confirm approved EPA claims (75174-2). The testing was performed by two different labs at three locations across the country selected by the hospital environmental services company.
